SUMMARY:SNOW & AVALANCHE - Gros-Châtillon
DESCRIPTION:What is SNOW\, what is an AVALANCHE ? \nDuring this day\, we will go to the Gros-Châtillon (1836m high) (bonus to the Croix de Javerne – 2096m high)\, a little pic from which we have a view of the Rhone valley\, the Mont-Blanc and the Grand Muveran. During the walk we will do a « snow profile » activity and discuss the different types of snow and avalanches. \nThe walk will be in english ! Everybody is welcome! \nOnly requirements : \n\nBe curious\nSnowshoes\, sticks\nAvalanche equipment (avalanche transceiver\, snow shovel and snowprobe)\nBe able to walk 5-6hours with a backpack\nGood shoes and warm clothes\nUnderstand and speak English\nPicnic for lunch\n\nStart and end at Frenière-sur-Bex (accessible by public transport). (Gros-Châtillon: 8kms\, and 900m up or maximum Croix de Javerne: 10.5kms – 1225up). \nRegistration until the 19th February 2023: forms here (click\, click\, click) \nAll the final details (exact program\, equipment list\, and so on) are provided around the 20th February. The program may be modified or cancelled due to bad weather conditions\, insufficient numbers of participants (at least 4 people)\, or other reasons. \n  \nFor the price: it’s a walk at a pay-what-you-can philosophy\, which means that you decide what you give. \n\nrecommended price (to give you an idea!!) : 30chf/pers\nsupport price (to pay for our admin hours and so on) : 40chf/pers\n\n  \nPlease write to me for more information!
